Meet the founders
David Monchal
CEO & Co-founder
A repeat entrepreneur with 25 years of experience in product compliance and industrial markets. David held Quality & Compliance leadership roles at MSA (NYSE-listed), a global leader in life protection equipment: helmets, respiratory devices, gas detection. He then founded and built a food-tech startup from the ground up, launched in 2008, an UberEats-like ordering platform years ahead of its market. He later led Quality, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality & Development functions at Markem-Imaje, an opCo of Dover Corp (NYSE).
It was on the ground, wrestling with slow and fragmented compliance processes, that the idea behind Qleer took shape. At MSA, certification files were so tedious to build that only one person in the whole company knew how to do it. Later at Markem-Imaje, David saw teams hire aggressively just to keep up with regulatory pressure, yet time-to-market still suffered.
"Product Compliance is a must to sell worldwide, but compliance engineers work with Excel and Word. Hiring more people to keep up with regulation pace is not the solution. We're on a mission to solve this."
At Qleer, David drives vision, sales and investor relationship, bringing first-hand experience of the workflows Qleer automates today.
Valentin Chmara
CTO & Co-founder
A trained engineer specialized in mechatronics, Valentin spent three years in a major automotive group before going independent, eventually becoming a serial entrepreneur with 20+ early-stage products built.
He has kept building on that engineering foundation ever since, staying self-taught on AI and deep learning, knowledge that now shapes the architectures and models behind Qleer's product. One lesson from his ventures stuck: move fast, test with real customers early, and let their feedback drive the product.
"I first looked for a classic full-time job. But the more interviews I went through, the more I realized that if I'd landed any of those roles, I'd have been unhappy. So I decided to build my own path instead, and joining David just made sense: I saw the traction, we worked well together, and we were helping people with a real need."
At Qleer, Valentin leads the technical roadmap and relationships with research labs. What he's proudest of isn't a clever technical trick, it's the discipline to keep things simple rather than over-engineer the problem.
